Performance

Getting down to the nitty-gritty, the FX33 performed quite well. We started off with Macro images. As is, the images look crisp and clear with the colors captured very nicely. In full size you’ll still see quite a lot of detail with virtually no issues at all.

Images taken in normal daylight may seem just a wee bit on the darker side, but on the whole the images are still quite clear with very little (if any) vignetting on the edges. The details in the images are quite good too but you will notice a very slight purple fringing in the shadows.

The colors are quite good and the camera images to retain them quite well. Even the greens, thankfully. I won’t say they are perfect, but they do appear quite accurate. But that’s not all – the FX33 takes no more than 15 seconds to process the image. And that’s nice.

Sports mode also comes out really well. The images in focus look sharp and all the surrounding images don’t look too bad either.

This excelent camera is having an excellent movie mode. But is marred in India by the high pricing. Though supplanted by the new FX 35 with a 25 to 100 mm lens- it still is a good buy- but only if U can get for the US price of $ 180 ( 8-9k in India )

"and absence of lag while taking consecutive images. " absence of lag, interesting. Probably the time taken to shoot 2 consecutive snaps should have been noted down & mentioned rather than simply 'absence of lag'.

Another thing..
"What makes this night mode better than in some other cameras I’ve tested is that it takes no more than 15 seconds to process the picture." processing of images usually takes less than 5 seconds. 15 seconds is quite a lot.

I guess the reviewer is quite new in reviewing camera's. Even I aint a camera reviewer, but as a reader I tend to look at certain details that I want in a camera review, like size of camera, battery charging times, color saturation & hue, processing times, anti blur etc etc.
