Chassis: Good looking and well ventilated
Mouse is well implemented in the keyboard
The keyboard is not full sized
Front display's blue backlight makes it unreadable in a lit room
For the same amount of money you can do better

One thing that put us off is the availability of only a VGA out and no DVI or as a matter of fact even composite or component. This is where most boards with Nvidia powered chipsets with onboard graphics leap ahead as they not only come with a DVI port but also provide Component and/or composite out. Non-availability of a composite or component out means that you cannot connect this media center to a standard definition television as all of them have a composite video input and some of the higher models ( 29 inches and above) have component video input.

The RF based wireless keyboard has a built-in mouse. There is a scroll wheel at the right hand side and left and right click buttons on the left. We liked the design and the mouse is fully functional and convenient to use. The only problem we had is that they keyboard is not a normal sized keyboard with the number pad missing and a couple of keys displaced from their normal position. The point here is that the keyboard is anyway big and by cutting 15 to 20% of its size by removing the number pad and re-orienting the keys doesn’t make it out rightly portable. Such a design change greatly reduces your productivity under normal usage. Also supplied is a Windows Media center remote which is pretty handy though with a little practice it can easily be replaced by the wireless keyboard.

The overall performance is good with an above average quality of TV reception. The TV tuner comes with a FM tuner. You also have composite video and audio inputs on the tuner to let you attach a camcorder for capturing video.

Also provided in the bundle are Altec Lansing’s 2.1 Channel Speakers with a woofer. The performance is pretty decent and are available in the market for around Rs. 1,300.

Other features include Gigabit LAN, Firewire port, SPDIF out (optical and co-axial), line-in and line-out.
