Performance
We plugged a PS3 into one HDMI slot, and a Pioneer DVD player into the other. Calibration is a must for any TV, so first we attentively proceeded with our DVE disc and its dreamy patterns. The black levels were good enough, conforming to current LCD panel standards.
The overall contrast levels were good, with decent gradation between minute levels. Detail and sharpness proved great too; at least in our 720p upscaled DVD image we found the results more than satisfactory. Color and skin tones were spot on, with adequate saturation.
We switched to PS3’s HD content (in the forms of games), and the colors shone bright and accurate in all their splendor, making the viewing experience truly thrilling. Not to mention the good motion scenes performance. The inevitable jaggies were present, but otherwise detail was on the better side.
Conclusion
Rs 69,990 is the price quoted at Vijay Sales, while Rs 89,000 is the MRP, so I'm afraid this product is quite expensive. Quality is definitely worth a premium, but how much is too much is the question – especially with full-HD screens quoting for 90K-odd this Diwali. But do check it out; it's worth a shot if you can afford it.
