Camera/Media
The E840 features a 2MP camera, and in my opinion is a decent one. It’s a simple camera but has a lot of modes. The colors aren’t very vibrant, and the detailing level is quite bad too. You can select from different color balance options and control the white balance. And there is clipart you can play with.
This phone does live up to our expectations (to an extent) with regards to the music player. Before I start, I will say this once again that phone companies should stop building up cash reserves on proprietary designs. The earphone shares the same slot with the charger, so if you want to listen to music at home while charging, just forget it!! Your only way out is to relay the music to a pair of Bluetooth headphones. Yes, the phone supports A2DP profile, thank God!!
This is a perfect example of how companies manage to make their products down-perform by packing a perfectly useless pair of earphones. And since you can only use the proprietary earphones, I suggest you buy a Bluetooth Headset. The iTech BluePRO headset changes your music listening experience.
The music player is good in any case. The volume isn’t that loud, but the output is clean and clear. There are no manual EQ settings, just the regular presets.
