Wide-Screen LCDs are fast becoming a rage, especially with multi-media freaks, letting you watch movies the way its meant to be i.e. in the 16:9 or 16:10 format (the regular monitors and televisions have an aspect ratio of 4:3). It’s also turning out to be a boon for office goers since you can simultaneously open two documents side by side making your work easier. The Benq FP92W belongs to the new 19-inch wide-screen brigade and advertises itself as the fastest monitor, with a response time of 5ms. Lets check it out.
Design
The two color design—silver bezel and black base, with the minimalistic design (the controls are placed on the side) gives it a classy look. Though we are not exactly happy with the controls on the side. It gets a little tedious and difficult to co-ordinate while making adjustments since you have to move your head to the side every time you are looking for a button. But we will let that pass because its not everyday that you change your settings.
Controls are on the side panel
The base stand is wide and rectangular, offering good stability. It has a swivel stand which rotates about 30 to 40 degrees vertically, though there is no provision to adjust the height. Besides placing it on the desktop it also has the provision to mount it on the wall.
