The bundled earphones are a let-down. A good pair can cost Rs 1,000 – 1,500, but if you really have to put in that much extra, why not buy an Apple Shuffle or a Creative Zen Stone Plus? Both these manufacturers are known to bundle a good set of earphones with their DAPs.
The sound quality is quite decent. Having said that, you will find mids cracking – the player can't handle booming lows. Intra-frequency interference is there too, but hardly noticeable. Anyway, with a good set of earphones you should be able to kill those blues.
As a rule, you have switch the player on before connecting it to the computer, or it will just keep charging. Strangely, the player doesn’t read any data unless it’s put in the folder named ‘PLAYER’. Makes no difference though, just a silly quirk. Battery life isn’t something to write home about either. With a only four hours of playback time, I thought the player was defective at first.
The SV-MP70V costs Rs 2150 with 1GB of space, and if you heed my advice, stay clear of this one. The player sounds great, no doubt. It is also at the same time very slow, and this alone will frustrate you more than anything else. There are plenty of alternatives available in the market for the same price.
