Being style conscious is paramount these days. If you can dress fashionably, why not have accessories that complement your style? And what better accessory to complement your Guccis and Pradas than your mobile phone?
No socialite, page 3 wannabe, or for that matter anyone with a decent fashion sense, would wish to be caught dead without a cool phone that makes just such a statement. Although the 7500 definitely does that, how good is the phone from the usability point of view? That's what we decided to check.
Form Factor
It’s sleek, it’s lightweight and yes, it does have a rather zany looking keypad. My first reaction was... holy c**p! How on earth do I type a freakin’ message on this criss-cross keypad? But after two tries I realized the keys are essentially in the same place as any other phone, so I had no issues whatsoever.
One problem with the keys is that the Call End and Return key are located too close together, so you could end up closing a message or an application and returning to the main screen instead of going back to the previous menu. It’ll take a bit of getting used to. The joystick, although very handy for navigation, is a bit stiff.
I do like the slightly curvy design and the brilliant 2 inch display. On the side of the 7500 Prism are the volume/zoom keys and at the bottom of the same side is the dedicated camera key.
One good thing about this phone is that it uses a standard mini USB port for data PC hookup. Unfortunately it has a 2.5mm socket for earphones. These two ports, along with the charging port and the strap slot, are located at the bottom of the phone.
The most disappointing factor about the 7500 Prism, however, is that it doesn’t have a hot-swap slot for a microSD card. You’ll have to remove the battery to get at it.
