Camera
The 9.9 has a nice 2.0 megapixel digital camera, which is a pretty good effort for a phone this slim. The camera is located on the hinge right above the external OLED display. There is no flash, and neither is there any method of auto-focus. But even then, the pictures turned out pretty good. There was sufficient sharpness, though the colors didn’t come out very vibrant.
I had another problem with the button scheme during camera usage. The center Ok/i button is used to take the shot, but immediately after, the button changes to ‘Send MMS’, so you can’t keep clicking the button to take shots in quick succession like I can with other Samsung phones. After every shot you need to use the soft key to go back to the camera mode from the preview mode.
Battery
Not too much can be demanded from a phone this thin, so a life of around 3 days with moderate amount of talking and other features (MP3, camera) is decent enough.
Conclusion
This RAZR clone is more expensive at Rs. 16,000 and doesn’t give you anything extra, other than a higher resolution screen and a better camera. The phone is thinner than the RAZR, but its also wider and generally uncomfortable to open and use. The keypad is also not comfortable since it offers no tactile feedback.
Stick to the RAZR if you’re in the market for a slim clamshell – it’s under Rs. 9,500 now!
