Another change that has taken place on the new series is on the HSF front. The HSF is now even more massive which results in this card running cooler than previous generations. This is a good development as previous iterations were beginning to heat up quite ridiculously. Idling the card runs at a core temperature of 58-59 degrees Centigrade, which is a good 3-4 degrees cooler than earlier efforts. While it may not seem much in percentage terms, one has to realize on just how hot these cards run due to their huge sizes and power requirements.
