Now back to the good part. Visually, the game does no wrong. Techland has obviously burnt a couple of gallons of midnight oil working on their new engine and it shows. On a good rig, the game looks absolutely mind blowing; in fact it will remind you of Oblivion a lot, with it's superb lighting and exquisitely detailed outdoor environments, complete with swaying grass et all. Characters appear pretty well detailed, although lip synching seems a bit off, but it's nothing that serious. Voice acting is a mixed bag; the actor playing Ray hams it up, but delivers a good performance nevertheless and the way he continuously recites lines from the Bible totally reminded me of Samuel L Jackson's character from Pulpfiction (which can never be a bad thing). Billy on the other hand whines a bit and comes off as a little wuss, but keeping his character in mind, I'll go easy on him.
In the end I thoroughly enjoyed this game even though it did border on mediocrity at times. Sure, I did get a bit irritated with Billy's stealth segments and the long loading times, in all honesty, CoJ did manage to satisfy those 'Western Shooter' pangs of mine.
