RPG elements present in DMoMM are your standard fare and although it isn’t that complicated as WoW, it’s still deep enough to keep you happy. Complete objectives to obtain skill points that can be used to boost your character’s overall stats via three areas: Combat, Magic and Miscellaneous (Endurance, Stealth etc). Pump up his strength, if you’re more of the brawling type, while you could make him a lot stealthier if sneaking past enemies is your thing (although sneaking around while you’re being chased by spiders the size of dogs won’t do any good) and since the game does not have any sort of class-based stuff here, you could make your character a Jack of all trades. If you’re a big fan of physically customizing you character down to the very last eyebrow, you’ll be sorely disappointed here as there isn’t any such option and you’re thrust directly into the action (remember when I said it was an action game with RPG elements? Well I wasn’t kidding).
Once you’re over the use-your-environment-to-kick your-enemies-ass-thrills, there isn’t much too look forward too as the story is pretty clichéd (protégé of a Wizard saves world), and voice acting is pretty meh, but you’ll be glad to know that the game sports a Multiplayer mode as well; unfortunately we couldn’t get our hands on that so I really can’t say how good/bad that mode actually is.
In the end, DMoMM is something I wouldn’t recommend to RPG players as they may end up getting a bit disappointed. It’s a shallow action game that excels in certain departments and it does have that definitive "Whoa Cool" factor as well, but like I said earlier, it’s not perfect and if you can look past the above mentioned flaws, you’ll end up having a good time. Let the kicking begin!
Note: Ubisoft has already releases an official patch for the game and this does improve performance considerably so if you’re planning on picking this game up, I suggest you check it out.
