Performance
Setup is easy. Once you plug in the USB jack of your PC, it does the rest. After this you can hear sound rightaway for future connections. And what sound! I must admit I was bowled over by the clarity.
I played Miles Davis Relaxin’ and realized that the unit has great mids and highs. On switching to bass-intensive music, the audio hub was okay, though not as good as the higher end of the spectrum. The bass was low, but not too low; it was tight but not too tight – that sort of thing. Another issue is that the response is highly directional for some reason. Only users seated right in front get the best response, but I feel that’s not such an issue.
I like the fact that the unit doubles as a USB hub; that’s very useful these days with hundreds of things to connect, especially for laptop users with limited inputs.
Conclusion
The price is Rs 6595, and that gets two thumbs up from us. Logitech always overprices its products in India, but this time they've got it just right. The product will appeal to multimedia fans who want better sound than what their crappy laptop speakers can provide, and even those who want something light and cool-looking. Audiophiles may not totally dig the sound, but universally it’s a brilliant product.
