Apart from being a major hit in the arcades and the late Sega Dreamcast gaming console, there have been many iterations of Crazy Taxi across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC and also the GBA.
Even after going through so many iterations, the one thing that's always stayed constant throughout the series is the gameplay, which stands true even for the recently released PSP version named "Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars". But is that really a good thing? Let's find out.
Fare Wars is basically the original Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 2 in a single package, or should I say UMD. Both games are separated right from the start with the first menu itself, giving you the option to select either of the two games, from which continues the oh-so-familiar interface and game.
Personally I have always been a fan of the series, primarily for its pick-up-and-play kind of gameplay. Though the games were never the type I would sit and play for hours, they were the perfect in-between games – the ones I'd play to take a break from work, or even from another game. So having a game like that on a handheld console such as the PSP should be a blast, right? Well, we'll go to that in a bit.
