For those who haven't had the good fortune of playing any of the iterations of Crazy Taxi till now, the core gameplay goes something like this: you have taxi and a clock that's fast counting down, and the only way you can keep extending your time is by getting fares. You basically have to pick up fares from wherever you can find them (and they are practically everywhere), and get them to their destination in the shortest time possible. Every time you pick a fare, your time gets extended, so you have to try to keep the game going for as long as possible.
The second aspect of the game is making money. You not only have to depend on the basic cab fare you earn, but also the bonus tips that you get by your 'crazy' driving. Drive close to other vehicles, drift a lot, get good air times by jumping off platforms, take shortcuts through places like first story parking lots, and your tips will hit the roof. More money earned equates to a better ranking, which in turn, translates to advanced boasting rights to your mates.
Sounds like fun? That's because it is!
Crazy Taxi 2 has some enhancements over the original Crazy Taxi. Firstly, your car has a jump function so you can add in more air time when jumping off places. Secondly you have the option to start from various locations on the map so your game doesn't always start from the same point with the same fares, which was the one thing that bothered me the most in the original.
