5 Megapixel Camera Phones Under Rs 22,000
By: Shayne Rana   |   Feb 21, 2008

Thanks to camera phones, everyone and his uncle seem to be a photography buff these days. Whoever had the brainwave to merge a camera with a mobile sure deserves to be commended. Today you have phone cameras starting from average VGA and 2 megapixel right up to 5 megapixel jobs with 3x optical zoom. If you happen to have a high enough budget and love taking pictures, here’s a list of five 5 megapixel camera phones that can be yours for under Rs 22,000 each. Not that we expect you'll want all five, but still...

Nokia N82 – Rs 21,750
The N82 is a fully loaded device with pretty much everything you’ll need from a mobile phone. Let’s just say it’s a candybar version of the N95. It comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, with auto-focus and a xenon flash. There are plenty of settings to choose from. The keypad may seem a bit odd, but it's just a matter of getting used to it. This Wi-Fi enabled handset supports USB and Bluetooth with A2DP profile, and also 3G (HSDPA) and GPRS/EDGE. Other features include a music and video player and an auto screen rotate feature.

Sony Ericsson K850i – Rs 19,000
The K850i is part of Sony Ericsson’s popular Cyber-shot range. Although it may seem a bit bulky, it does have a cutting-edge look and feel, with a partial touchscreen display. Like the N82 the K850i also has an auto screen rotation feature but that’s limited to the gallery menu. The 5 megapixel auto-focus camera has a xenon flash with LEDs for the video. To make things a bit easier, the keypad includes some shortcuts to camera features. Other features include a TrackID, Sony’s PlayNow connectivity service, USB, and Bluetooth with A2DP. Since it’s 3G-enabled, the handset also supports HSDPA.

I agree that Sony's sound and picture quality is unbeatable but if you take the sound clarity and resale value in consideration, I think Nokia is a better option

Sony can do better performence than Ns in its sound clarity and picture clarity......its rock man.........
shyam @ Feb 26, 2008
For a person with high talktime, I gues SE phones are best suited. N series phones do not have good looks, moreover these phones are bulky & the appearance is also too gaudy. N series phones get hung very often, whereas this is a very rare thing happening in SE phones....
Aastha @ Feb 26, 2008
True comment Jayson!!!I also love SE phones. For basic purpose Nokia is good otherwise it is not worth to buy.I don't know why people prefer N series phones. Its only bulky and some loud sound capacity otherwise its damn slow.SE rockxxxxxxxxxxxx in all the aspects.
vaibhav @ Feb 25, 2008
Trust me "DONT BUY NOKIA N SERIES". I have used those and its nothing but trouble. Now i use Sony Ericsson, and its worth it. If ur going for basic phone better opt Nokia. Otherwise go for SE. HTC comes with trendy features and style....something that i have to look for
