Graphics: Leadtek Winfast 7600GT TDH (Rs. 8,900)
Leadtek is a well known graphics manufacturer, who have been manufacturing Nvidia based products for almost a decade now. Their products have become well known, for their excellent overclocking potential and great build quality. The Leadtek Winfast 7600GT TDH is based on Nvidia's mid-level offering—the 7600GT chipset—which offers great gaming at affordable rates.

The card is clocked at 560/700 core/memory speeds, and comes with Dual-DVI output for LCD panel connectivity. It also offers an S-Video port, which will allow you to connect it to a TV and watch movies on a big screen . The cooling unit on this card is fairly large with a good heatsink/fan combo that does a great job in dissipating the heat. 2D quality is excellent. In all, this card offers great value for money in both performance and features. Throw in the fact that Leadtek offers 3 years warranty on all its products and this makes it the ideal card to include in our roundup.

Sound: Onboard: 7.1 channel ADI AD1988 Controller
Onboard sound has come a long way in recent years. Today's onboard chips are multi-channel capable, and can easily compete with lower-end sound cards like Creative's Audigy 2 ZS. The chipset that the P5B offers is an 8 channel chipset that offers great audio output in the music, video, and gaming.

LAN: Intel Gigabit Ethernet Controller 10/100/1000
This is the standard Intel Gigabit onboard 10/100/1000 LAN that gives a maximum transfer speed of 1000 Mbps. It is fast enough to take care of your broadband internet (most users have a connection speed of 256 Kpbs or 512 kbps). Though Gigabit LAN is already present, most home networks are only capable of handling 100 Mbps speeds. Hence, you have the right firepower in Intel's 10/100/1000 Lan.

HEY,you didn't mention the graphics memory and why to use a dx9 card when there is the latest dx10 card because the upcoming latest games will be using dx10 and they may be high definition also so,it is better to for a graphics card which can support both dx10 and high definition like NVIDIA'S 8series or ATI HD series cards which are great for watching HD movies and games
AND please mention the graphics memory
AND also mention the prices of the graphics cards which i suggested above.
AND suggest me which HD monitor (under 30 inches )will be suitable for watching HD movies and games
NOTE : SUGGEST WITH PRICES.

Hey AMD lover, no one wants to buy an AMD product at this point of time when almost every computer gigs uses top notch c2d processors. For someone like me who don't have our pocket full loaded, still we want have that name C2D, never mind if it is the entry level or not. So don't you suggest any of the AMD product even if its faster or cheaper, coz' they are so done and dusted!!!!!

Abhinav, get an xbox 360 if u only want to play games. You will need more than 50,000 and a hell of a lot of upgrades to a PC if u want to play the latest games 2-3 years from now.Vista and directx 10 are going to to be a must after a few years .Basically, a gaming console is for casual gamers and the PC is for the enthusiast. So if u want to really get into gaming then get a Future-proof gaming PC (With a Nvidia 8 series card ). It all depends on whether you like tweaking stuff or not .IF not , then the xbox is an easy choice as its a plug and play kind of system without worrying about system requirements.

well it looks like a you have created a good gaming PC. But it i have other gaming problems. Look my parents have agreed to buy me a Xbox360 or a pc under Rs50000. Now problem is that i want to play latest and good games for the next 2-3 years. Now what decision should i make on a gaming point of view.Should i go for PC on the configuration that you have given or shoull i get the 360.

instead of wasting money in costly keyboard and mouse it would be sensible to invest in RAM. moreover i think i can save money by taking creative 2.1 speakers instead of altec lansing.rest is okay
tanmay.diwadkar @ May 13, 2007
i am confused for ram vendors !!!!!!!!!!! corsairgives us 1GB ram for 5000Rs
whereas kingston & other vendors gives a 2GB ram fpr 5000RS with the same performance
can any one tell what to buy???????
whether to save money by taking knigston or destroying my money by buying corsai rrams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not know if it is possible to use a better processor as of today like "Intel Core 2 Extreme processors QX6800 / Intel® Core™2 Extreme processor QX6800" in the suggested set up without inducing any incompatibilities in other hardware. If there are any issues, please can someone suggest the options or other hardware changes to use the upper grade processor...
Thanks

why the video memory is usually not mentioned when speaking about Graphic cards.Isn't it the criteria that is used to measure their efficiency?
Karthikeyan @ Apr 16, 2007
Another CPU to look into would be the Core2Duo E4300 which runs at 1.80 Ghz. I hear that the processor is a mad over-clocker, I remember reading at a certain website that they over-clocked the CPU to around 3 Ghz! If you're willing to take the risk and go ahead and over-clock, I'd suggest you get the E4300 as it offers best bang for buck. ;)

And a 7600GT at this point of time? Not a good idea in my opinion. Why invest in a DX9 card, that too especially when DX10 is right around the corner. Nvidia's mid-range 8 series cards are going to be amazing, it'd be a better idea to wait and invest in that.

u guys do understand that this is a PC with a 50k budget. To have all the better stuff like the antec case and the razor mouse would push it beyond the budget. But at the same time this case, mouse and keyboard does suck. as of today AMD just slashed its prices which means that going with the AMD is the right way. better performace for the price, maybe you can even have a better pc cab and mouse and keyboard.

Why the cost of Windows OS was never included in the price of the PC ?

who said that core 2 duo E6300 is 35-40% faster than amd x2 4200...the author should get his facts right as in stock speeds there is a marginal difference of only 5% (c2d being faster) between the two...and the price difference is somewhere arnd 4000( x2 4200 being available for 5000 rs only)...so one can easily go for a higher amd even amd x2 4600+ which will be cheaper and faster than core 2 duo E6300!
