Slim cameras are usually notorious for limiting us with scaled-down specs to compensate for cut-down sizes, which is why it's really impressive when a manufacturer manages to include a feature that you'd normally not expect from a camera in this category. Zoom is one of those features.
While most ultra-compacts have a good amount of manual functionality these days along with a lot of cool features, optical zoom is still one important aspect where 3x is just about as high they go — well, most of them.
So if zoom is a high priority for you, as it is for me, here are a few cams that go beyond the 3x standard and give you the zoom you require for better compositions.
Casio Exilim EX-V7
Though the camera didn't get the best rating from our review, it still has the one factor that puts it on the top of this list – a whopping 7x optical zoom. Looking at its ultra-compact build and the lack of any kind of lens protrusion, it's something of an accomplishment.
We reviewed the V7 just last week, so be be sure to check that out before you shell out Rs. 19,500 for this one based on the zoom alone.
