A Gaming Machine For Rs 60,000

Monitor: Viewsonic VA2026W

The selection of a monitor for this roundup was frankly a headache. Within our price bracket, there are a multitude of excellent monitors offering great features. After careful consideration we opted for the Viewsonic VA2026W. This is a 20-inch monitor with a native resolution of 1680 x 1050, response time of 5ms, brightness of 300 cd/m2 and dynamic contrast ratio of 2000:1 (true contrast ratio 800:1). At a price of Rs 12,000, the monitor offers excellent VFM.

Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech MX518
Very few gaming mice have achieved the popularity of the Logitech MX518. A perennial favorite with CS players for its 1600 DPI tracking and elegant design, it’s now available for Rs 1,250. Our keyboard is a standard Logitech 101-key affair, which is good for both gaming and general work.

Cabinet: Cooler Master CM690/CM Extreme Power 600W

Coolermaster makes some of the best cabinets currently available. The 690 is from the budget range and offers adequate cooling and an excellent design for our rig. Check out this link for further details. The power supply we chose to accompany the cabinet is the Cooler Master Extreme Power 600W. This excellent PSU not only provides 600W of power, it does so at 70% efficiency and comes with full support for the newest Intel standard (ATX V2.01 12 W).

Speakers: Creative SBS 560

The SBS 560 is one of the cheapest 5.1 speaker sets available now. With an output of 6W RMS per channel for the satellites and 12W RMS for the subwoofer, it has plenty of power for games and movies.

I think AMD X4 Phenom series for gaming is far superior bet than the Intel ones. Added with 790G chipset, it would be a killer combo.

i had always like the reviews given my tech2 as they give their information on hard core research done by them and again buying Xbox 360 and PS3 may cost lower but they require the support stuffs like HD TV and Sound System, so i think these guys do their job perfectly.

I don't understand why people keep comparing a PC to gaming consoles. XBOX 360 or PS3 may cost half of this 60 grand comp, but that's all you get- a box to play games with. You need to buy Hi-Def television to play games on and a capable sound system to compliment it. When you add the cost of all the above, it will hit the 60K mark. In such a case, I think PC gets my vote as it would be able to do much more than just gaming.

A gaming machine deserves at least a 22inch LCD- ideal is Dell Ultrasharp2208WFP 22 for 14.5k- I think for 60k an ideal config should be

my budget is 50k.... so i will be making it a 19" wide TFT (8k) , cheap kebd and mouse combo (from MS or Logitech 500/-) , LG DVD Writer (1300/-) , cheap cabinet (2000/-), much better speakers (logitech X530 6000/-) and probably an inferior processor... could someone please suggest a good cpu to go with the 8800GT 512 ??

The mobo looks outdated to me as it cannot take advantage of nvidia's SLI technology .......

60,000 for gaming? thats stupid. why would i buy a pc for gaming at 60k when i can buy an xbox 360 at half the price and get the best graphics experience? this is nonsense.

PC's gets upgraded everyother time and the demand for higher configuration is more with every game being released. so its better to stick to gaming consoles. cheers!!!

While i agree, that most gamers will prefer to use headphones, it was my choice to go with a simple 5.1 to cater to a larger audience for movie/music purposes.

80% gamers use headphones and a 500gb hdd is not much needed. So save the money there & buy a good graphics card like 8800 ultra, ram should be 4 gb. Overall the above specifications are not good.

lol u guyz weren't able to fit the e8400 for a 60k budget.
viewsonic not a very good choice .. i wud rather shell my cash in on a samsung or a dell for abt the same price point ..

Good components.I personally like the choice of mouse, MX518 is a good gaming mouse and is not too costly. However can someone tell me the price of Zebronics PEACE cabinet please. my email address is 'slayaditya@gmail.com'
