Far Cry Instincts was the Xbox port of Crytek’s tropical shooter Far Cry that was delayed as Ubisoft tried porting the game to the PS2 and the Gamecube but failed due to hardware limitations. Not only was the game not a brain dead port, but Ubisoft made it a brand new game (although the tropical island setting stayed the same) by packing in tons of new mechanics like dual weapon wielding, Feral Powers (that’s where Jack could obliterate foes using his bare hands) and the ability to set booby traps for unsuspecting foes. The game wasn’t as open ended or graphically souped up as it’s PC counterpart but is still managed to squeeze out every last inch of power from the Xbox making it a gorgeous as well as a fast paced game; if for some reason you missed out on the game back then you can always procure Far Cry Instincts Predator for the Xbox 360.
