You’d probably take it for granted when an average or below-average title screws up from time to time, but when you’re having a ball with a really good game and a terrible design flaw rears its ugly head, it can make you tear your hair out. Here are five such moments in some rather recent games that could annoy the living daylights out of you…
Mad Men and Beggars – Assassin's Creed
Assassin’s Creed’s Altair danced over the rooftops and glided through the streets of the middle ages with enough grace to make a ballerina seem like a drunken ogre. His skills extended to swordplay too, which allowed him to take on an entire army of skilled swordsmen alone. The only foe he could never overcome, however, were the mad men and beggars, who could wear him down until you quit the game.
During timed missions where you have to assassinate or pickpocket someone, well-timed execution is really important. It’s at such times that Altair would have the entire world’s population crowd around him and shove him around, while a gazillion beggars block his way as they annoy him for a few bucks, making it impossible to complete your mission without killing those bastards and blowing his cover! Whoever decided to implement these harrowing entities in the game clearly had no love for Ubisoft fans, and wanted to ruin the experience for each and every one of us.
