Medal of Honor: Airborne (Xbox360 PS3 PC)
Release Date: 28th August 2007
Genre: First Person Shooter
Long before the Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms series, EA’s Medal of Honor (MoH) series had the honor of being the finest WW II shooter out there and with Medal of Honor: Airborne, this series is all set to make the transition to HD. The game will put players in the boots of Boyd Travers, Private First Class of the 82nd Airborne Division as he and his compadres engage in battles throughout Europe. For the first time in any MoH game players will be able to go anywhere they want and take on any mission they seem fit. Now don’t expect GTA levels of free roaming here, but it sure beats the linear path taken by previous MoH games.
The PS3 version was to release simultaneously with the Xbox 360 and the PC version but for reasons unknown, EA has postponed the PS3 version to November 2007.
Lair (PS3)
Release Date: 14th August 2007
Genre: Action
If riding atop gigantic dragons while engaging in cinematic aerial battles is your thing, Lair is the game for you. Developed by Factor 5, Lair is the story of a dragon-riding knight named Rohn whose tasked with protecting his kingdom from a pesky race of people called the Mokai and he’s aided in this most noble endeavor by fire breathing dragons. While the game has the potential to become the PS3’s system seller, the preview build we witnessed a while back (which you can read all about here) suffered from a number of frame rate issues and bugs that I’m hoping have been ironed out by now. Unfortunately us Indian gamers will have to wait a while for this game as it won’t be hitting Indian shores until October 2007 (confirmed by Milestone Interactive).
