Even though it’s been the butt of a gazillion jokes since it’s official name (it was first known as the Revolution) was announced, the Nintendo Wii has still managed to secure a nice spot for itself in the Christmas list of many gamers. Now this could be because of all next gen consoles, the Wii is the most reasonable priced one and the fact that its got a pretty unique controller could work in its favor as well. Oh and don't forget the fact that you won’t have to shell out oodles of dough for that shiny HDTV just to play it.
With the Wii launching in a matter of days, we thought we would take a look at its impressive lineup. Now a lot of these titles are pretty wierd and did catch our interest, while the others bordered between "meh" and total crap, so without further adieu, we present ten titles that may just perusade us to go in for the Wii.
Developed by Michael Ancel (Beyond Good and Evil), Raving Rabbids marks the return of the legless hero, Rayman as he battles it out with crazed psychotic bunnies, desperately trying to thwart their plans of world domination. Take control of Rayman with the Wii remote and get ready to kick those bitches back to bunny hell. The game will essentially be divided into two different game modes: story and replay. In story, players will have to spend fifteen days in jail as the legless wonder and every day, they have to undergo four excercise drills. Successfully completing these trials will reward him with plungers and as and when he earns enough of these, he can use them as a ladder to escape from prison. As the name suggests, Replay will allow you to play those trials again and again and again, alone or with friends.
Yes, this is the same game we all played on the PC way back in 2004, and now it’s all set to make the transition to the Wii. The story in Vengeance continues from Instincts as Jack has already inherited his Feral powers and he’s lured into *yet* another adventure, thanks to *yet* another mysterious woman (seriously dude, you need to stay away from women). The Wii’s unique controller will be used for activities like feral melee attacks, throwing grenades, driving, shooting, jumping, climbing and more.
Red Steel was one of the first Wii games the world heard about or saw for that matter and will take place in modern day Japan where players will have to go up against the Japanese mob to save their fiancée and avenge the death of her father. In the game, you'll get to wield all sorts of weapons from guns to Katanas and the Wii remote should make this an interesting and interactive affair. Even though the game offers players a lot of violence, courtesy of guns and swords, developer Ubisoft has decided not to add in even a drop of blood in the game, as a result of which it falls into T rated territory.
