The PlayStation Experience
By: Avinash Bali   |   Nov 27, 2007
Spread over nearly 10,000 sq ft, 32 PS3s, 14 Ps2s, 18 PSPs, and 50 Bravias, the PlayStation Experience was by far one of the biggest game-related expos Mumbai has seen till date. The two-day event was held at Taj Land's End in Bandra on November 24-25, and was Sony’s way of inducting non-gamers into the world of next-generation consoles, social games, handheld gaming, and much more.

In this article we’ll talk about our experiences at this event, but first let’s take a quick look at some of the major announcements that were made at the press conference preceding the event.

First up was the announcement of a 40 GB model of the PlayStation 3 (PS3) that hit Indian stores this month. This model will set you back by Rs 24,990 (FYI it’s available in the US for around Rs 16,000) and does not offer any form of backward compatibility – which means you will not be able to play your old PS2 games on this console.

Now if that bit of news failed to make your day, how about if we regale you with some PSP news? Word has it that the PSP Slim & Lite that’s "33% lighter and 19% thinner than its predecessor" will soon be available in India, for Rs 8,990!

But wait, there’s more. For a limited period, people looking to buy a PSP will also have the option of purchasing two Limited Edition PSP bundles, the first being the Spider-man bundle that’ll ship with a red-and-black PSP, the Spider-man 3 movie, as well as the game.

In case you aren’t a big fan of the web slinger, how about a Simpsons bundle that’ll ship with a yellow PSP and the latest Simpsons game? The Spidey bundle will cost you Rs 10,490 while the Simpsons bundle will set you back by Rs 9,990.

Rumor has it that they had hired someone as Nariko but she got cold feet at the last minute. Pity

Ditto on seeing some Booth Babes in the next show. A real-life depiction of Heavenly Sword's Nariko would, quite simply, be heavenly. ;)

I'm sure u know what the politicians made of the "CHEERLEADERS" in the T20 match against oZ. So I think they'll play it safe.
