My experience with first-person shooters has taught me that after my ammunition gets depleted the only thing that stands between me and certain death is my sidearm. These pistols are the underdogs of gaming weaponry and often get overshadowed by shotguns, assault rifles and other fancy guns. So let’s take a few minutes off our busy fragging schedule, and pay tribute to some of the most magnificent pistols ever created…
.457 Magnum Revolver
There are some feelings in life that words really can’t express. It’s never good to bottle up such feelings either; so what better way to expunge them than with a .457 Magnum Revolver! Nothing quite says ‘get outta my face’ like a bullet to the head with this baby.
This six-shot revolver has been featured in many games and more often than not it’s endowed with enough power to pack a really mean punch. The game that made me fall completely and utterly in love with it, however, was Half-Life 2. The feeling of disposing off Combine soldiers with a single body shot from this baby was extremely gratifying. Even when you held it in your hand, the gun made you feel like you could take on the world! The fact that ammunition for this gun was pretty scarce throughout the game made it all-the-more precious and sought after.
IMO, uzis suck for getting "jobs done". They have a ridiculously high rate of fire, but will only waste your ammunition and not let you get a decent, powerful shot. Also, they're not compact enough. Hardballers are so much better.
