What’s the one thing that remains in constant in today’s day and age? C’mon it’s a simple question. Starts with ‘Tech’ and ends in ‘Nology’. That’s right -Technology. Don’t misunderstand though, technology isn’t constant at all in the literal sense, it’s a progressive and sometimes overwhelming tool to make our complicated lives a whole lot simpler. But the fact is, it seems like there’s no part of lives these days that technology isn’t part of. Thus a constant. It’s everywhere, sometimes where we least expect it. Here are just a few odd places you may have heard about, but still think really odd to have moving parts.
Apparel
That’s right. Technology is also present in a lot of clothing items these days as well. Let me explain.
The iJacket
The famous Designer Zegnia has actually made an all weather jacket that allows you to use your iPod with it – the iJacket. Sure it has pockets to put your iPod in like any other jacket you may have, but does your jacket also have wires running through it? I think not. The iPod jacket has a control panel on the left arm area that allows you to control your music without having to remove the player itself. Personally it scares me a bit to know that there are wires running through my clothes. Should I get some water on it, I could darn well electrocute my self couldn’t I? But like I said the iJacket is also waterproof. Although the arm controls do seem a wee bit off it’s still a great concept.
Adidas 1
I know that having air pockets in your shoes is nothing new, but does it really need some sort of technology with sensors in it? Hell yeah! For those of you who happen to health freaks into jogging and basketball – out doorsey stuff, this is something you may not want to miss out on. If you can afford it. The Adidas 1 is a pair of shoes that has a set of buttons that control sensors and a motor in the base of the shoe. It will automatically adjust the shoe itself according to the kind of surface you happen to moving on thereby making it more comfortable to do your thing. I’ve heard of the pump action button for air inflation, that’s no hot air, but this is truly the next step. No pun intended.
