Contra 4

Anyone who's had a Nintendo Entertainment System (8-bit console) back in the olden days would tell you how much fun they had playing Contra on it. The game's had many variotions till date, but none have gone back to the roots the way this one has. Contra 4 takes everything you liked about the original game and updates it for a brand new experience.

Be warned, however. This game is no pushover, and without save points, it demands to be played through in a single sitting. Well, Contra was never supposed to be easy in the first place. You want easy, you play Nintendogs... wuss!

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Non-game games are a Nintendo specialty. Animal Crossing sets you up in a village where you... well, lead a life of villager. As the genre requires, you don't really have a specific end to this game or even a certain set of must-do goals. You just have to do your everyday tasks of fishing, landscaping, and even housekeeping.

I know it may sound like bollocks right now, but believe me, the only way you can understand how awesome this game is to try it out. It's definitely a better implementation than what even The Sims series achieved on the DS. Try it out and thank us later!

Pokémon Diamond/Pearl

You got a Nintendo handheld and no Pokémon game to go with it?!? I'll bet an 8-year-old relative of yours is getting ready to kick your butt for that anytime now. The Pokémon games have been the biggest driving force behind GBA sales all this while and if you haven't experienced the game till now, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot this time. Forget the marketing "gotta have them all" crap, or even the annoying Pikachu mascot. Just play the game for what it is and you'll find yourself immersed in a highly addictive RPG. It will definitely give you a better understanding of why the franchise got so rapidly famous, and will also earn you the respect of the young 'uns in the family.
Next week we will be bringing you the remaining 10 of our top 20 recommendations for the Nintendo DS. You definitely don't want to miss that one!
Update: You can find the second part of the feature right here.
