Creative EP630
These are classic in-ear phones, with tiny transducers covered with rubber tips. These rubber tips insert in your ear just fine, and you receive a slightly larger pair of attachable tips.
The good thing about this (or all canalphones for that matter) is that a great deal of isolation is achieved. No problem about annoying background noises, and you can play at a lower volume to get the same loudness perception.
The EP630s have a major fault however, that I personally hate. The frequency response is all spiky and especially the treble and high mids are ragged. They hurt at high levels. The volume has to be kept very low, and only then we can hear these – at least if your ears are sensitive. The disadvantage is that detail and thump is lost.
The phones feel comfortable physically, if you can deal with a boosted treble. The drum snares and hi-hat sounds are like glass pieces. The cost is high too, so overall I feel Creative has not lived up to its reputation, in contrast to some of their other gear that's awesome.
