Creative TravelDock 900
This is officially available through IDLDPL (a distributor for creative products), although I haven't seen a single piece in any of the big hyperstores in Mumbai. However, we have word from Creative assuring us that the product is available, and soon we will update a list of places to look for.

It scores way above the others for its portability. The clamshell design feels just right, and opens to reveal a set of stereo speakers with a 3.5mm pin facing heavenward. As for the sound, it rocks! The dock uses NeoTitanium micro drivers that ensure awesome clarity. The best thing is that it uses four AAA batteries, and can give you a whole night of playback without dying on you.

As of now, you can get this device for anything between Rs 4000 and Rs 5000 in the gray market. The prices are indicative, for it means you may have to bargain for a good deal. The official price is Rs 6,499, kind of expensive, but then there's always going to be a premium for "good" portable speakers.

@David Joseph

You have two options to connect your iPod to the travel dock. If you noticed that the 3.5mm pin is sticking out of the center, which is where your iPod plugs in. Of course, this only works if you have the shuffle. If you have a heavier iPod, like the video one, then you should invest in an extension cable. It's easily available at any hardware shops, heera panna has it for sure. Doesn't cost much either.

I follow your site on a daily basis and am quite impressed with the content in it. I have a query below.

Can we connect ipod to Creative TravelDock 900? How does it compare to Altec lansing and Bose travel speakers.

This one sounds great for its price, i own one and can vouch for it. But don't expect a proper dock, it doesn't come with the usual ipod holder.
