Multiple Uses for Bluetooth
There are many uses for Bluetooth, as we all know. But one of my favorites happens to be pinching songs, wallpapers, pictures etc from others’ phones. Apart from that you can use bluetooth for listening to music on a Bluetooth headset. This will require your phone to be equipped with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).

Currently, there are only two ways of finding out whether your phone has A2DP or not. Firstly, read the product manual; secondly, look it up on the internet. Still no help? Drop me a line.

Other Uses:
  • Wirelessly communicate with your PC using a Bluetooth adaptor
  • Use a Bluetooth headset to talk while driving
  • Play multiplayer games with your friends.

The list doesn’t end here. It all depends on which phone you are using. If in your experiences with your existing or previous phones you have come across anything interesting, do leave a comment. With enough input from you all, I could be inspired to compile another full-length feature, with you as the stars of course!

This is a real bad article. This does not match the standards of Tect2.com, I usually read tech2 articles and it given me some information but this one is hopeless.....I am actually feeling frustrated that I read the article expecting that I will encounter something useful

There is one more use of Camera Mobiles.
You can use it for checking whether your remote is working fine or not.Here is the way:-
Start your mobile in camera mode, Place Remote Control in front of Camera lens, so that you can see Remote's IR Sensor from your mobile in the picture.Don't take a picture, instead click the remote's button which you think is not working properly, if red light(IR Light) or wave is showing on the camera picture mode, that means it's ok.Otherwise your remote has dead battery or damaged buttons.

Just punch in the number and hit the call button.
Immediately cancel the call.
Doing that you have stored the number in your last dialed calls memory for some time.

Manfred, your comments demonstrate your inability to see criticism in the right sense. The author had either intended this article to be taken utterly frivolously or perhaps he actually thought he was giving useful advice. Assuming it was the latter, people have responded to the article. The fact that spade is called a spade is an evidence of freedom of expression being alive in India, and not of India being a third-world country. But, on second thoughts, I understand the crux of your post. What you meant was people like moi should have not even responded to the article and should have instead left the entire space for eminent readers such as yourself. How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it
somewhere safe.

When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that w hoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys In the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on
their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object.. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other 'remote' for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Incredibly retarded! The title should be changed to 'Moron's guide to Mobile Tweaking'. If indeed, you wanna cater to rural boors and stone-age cretins, why not even explain how to make a phone-call. Something along the lines of: First find out the phone number of your friend. Remember, it will be of 10 digits. Then, give him a call, find out your own number. Bravo! Now, you are all set to catch up with 21st century technology age and communicate to distant friends and relatives, all thanks to, guess what, tech2.com. Trust me, that will help more chaps than this desperate, idiotic piece of feature writing.

I must say the standards of this site are really going down. I used to log on to this site everyday to check the latest in gizmos and to read the reviews. Sadly the number of interesting articles are not longer present. Its like the owners of the site have lost interest. To put up some thing as stupid as this on your site just shows the levels the site has reached. Generally people who visit your site are advanced users looking for further insight to new products ect. Even for the newest camera user this would be utter crap. Sad to see something as good start to see this kind of decline. Its been some time since I have seen something interesting on your site.

I read the comments and your reply to it. My humble submission - while I totally agree to your point of rural india not being aware of simple mobile facts and facets, I wonder how many of rural indians would be accessing internet and a website like tech2 to read your article and get initiated to the points you have highlighted. The latest juxtconsult report on internet puts 80% regular online Indians to be coming from A-B class cities, so you are bound to get a knee-jerk reaction from the readers!
I belv the channel you have chosen to elucidate basic mobile facts is incorrect. One - internet and two - a very tech savvy and niche site like tech2.com. The readers will have high expectations, because the profile visiting this site would be more discerning.

The title says "Beginner's Guide to....". I think that justifies it all. Obviously, many here who have taken the liberty to write such brilliant comments come from A - B class cities, so obviously its easy to write trash from your high-rise ivory towers.

Mobile phone penetration goes far beyond that, and in my interaction with people from various rural places (i do get a lot of such queries from these guys) plus MANY here from the cities, this story is mainly for those who know nothing about cell phones. Your parents are probably one of them. So there!

Anyway, with all the trouble you guys have taken, how about writing something more about what one can do with a mobile phone. THAT would be really worth it!!
