Guide To Buying A Music Phone

Formats and File Transfer
It’s important to know what kinds of file formats the phone can read. The most common are of course .Mp3 and .AAC. Most phones also accept .WAV files as well. Other formats could include .OGG as well, not that too many people use that these days. Phones that also accept .mp4 formats are usually a little on the expensive side.
It’s also quite important to see what mode is used to transfer your files from the PC to the phone. USB is the most obvious. There are two categories of USB ports that phones would have to transfer data. The first is once again the infamous propriety port. This would also require you to have a very company specific cable. Again should something go wrong you can’t use any other type from any other device. The second type is the miniUSB port. This is also standard to many other devices like digital cameras and mp3 players.
You can also use Bluetooth or Infrared to transfer your music but that would take much longer than using a cable. Plus you’ll need a Bluetooth Dongle, drivers etc. and for lazy people like me, that just doesn’t work. To make things a whole lot simpler, go with the mini USB port.
