We recently covered a range of 5 megapixel camera phones, but the prices involved may have been a bit steep for you and me. Not that we can’t afford one; it’s just that it would eat into our savings. If you want an affordable camera phone with above-average resolution, you should look at the next best thing. And so, here are some 3 megapixel camera phones that will cost you no more than Rs 13,000.
Intex Ultima I – 1170 (Rs 13,990)
Intex may be a relatively new entrant in the market, but the company's managed to launch quite a few handsets, from entry-level handsets to the Ultima I 1170 (which has a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, no less). The I 1170 has large 2.4 inch display that lets you watch videos (it supports MPEG4 and 3GP formats) and comes with a music player and integrated FM radio with space for storing 30 presets, and a voice recorder. The phone comes with Bluetooth and USB support, video ringtones and provision for external memory via microSD cards. There's a TV-out feature, and the camera can also double as a webcam.

Like all multimedia phones, it has a music and video player and an FM radio with RDS.

The 5610 is an Xpress Music handset, which means it’s a music mobile that has USB and Bluetooth (A2DP) connectivity. It supports external memory via microSD cards. The 3 megapixel camera has a flash and is auto-focus. What’s unique about the 5610 is the slider key under the display. It supports 3G, so a secondary camera is provided for video calls.
