Understanding Nod
The Brotherhood of Nod has been known as the sneaky, notorious and treacherous faction in the Command & Conquer universe. They rely primarily on deception, misdirection and stealth to get their way in any situation. The Nod army’s is designed in such a way, that it uses stealth and speed to compensate for their frailty. If you don’t like practicing hit and run tactics, and don’t like being stealthy, I suggest skipping Nod all together. On the other hand, if you like being sneaky like I do, Nod has a lot to offer - namely cheap units (most of them) that move fast and dish out a large amount of damage. If you want units that can absorb lots of damage, Nod’s not an option for you. Infantry
Nod’s basic infantry is the weakest in the game. Their Militant Squads cost just $200, have no special abilities and pretty much suck in comparison to their GDI/Scrin equivalents. Nod’s Militant Rocket Squads on the other hand are slightly better than GDI’s, and cost about $400. Due to Nod’s lack of good early anti-vehicular units, these guys will be relied on tremendously for fending off early vehicular attacks.
If you wanna play a stealthy game, getting a Hand of Nod + Secret Shrine as soon as possible is an excellent idea. Doing so allows you to create Nod’s stealthiest units – Shadow Teams. Shadow Teams are invisible to enemy units unless they attack or the enemy uses stealth detection. The best part about these units are that they can decimate infantry, can blow up structures using explosives and glide quickly over any terrain. It’s possible to actually get a couple of Shadow Teams up within the first 5 minutes of the game! If you do so on a small map and rush your enemy, they’re gonna have a real tough time.
