img_6427_ogre_thumb.gifAggron Stonebreaker - The Ogre Magi
Primary Attribute: Intelligence
Primary Role: Hero Killer/ Support

Introduction:
The Ogre Magi is one of the few late game intelligence heroes out there who can hold their own in battle anytime, anywhere. If you’re a low HP intelligence/agility hero, you should say your prayers when you see this guy; his Multicasted Fireblast will completely destroy you. He might look a bit stupid, but don’t tell him that, else he’ll pound you with a Fireblast and ignite what’s left of you to a charred remain.

The Good:
Great Strength growth
Fearsome Ultimate
Bloodlust will make your teammates love you
Has awesome stopping power (Ignite + Fireblast)
Low mana spells

The Bad:

Unpredictable nuke
Sucks at early game farming

img_6424_ogre_fireblast.gifFireblast (Mana Cost - 75/ 85/ 95/ 105/ Cooldown – 15 Sec.)
Description - Blasts an enemy unit with a wave of fire. Deals intense damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds. The damage scales from 75 to 275 with the spell level.

The most used spell of the Ogre Magi, this spell works great as a stun as well as a nuke. When you get 2-3 levels of your ultimate, there’s a random chance of casting the spell multiple times on a target at the expensive of the mana required for one mana cast.

img_6425_ogre_ignite.gifIgnite (Mana Cost - 95/ 105/ 115/ 125/ Cooldown – 12 Sec.)
Description - Drenches a target in volatile chemicals for 7.5 secs., causing it to burst into flames. The target is under immense pain, causing it to take damage and move slower. The damage per second scales from 10 to 40, while the slowing effect scales from 10% to 30% depending on the spell’s level.

Ignite is a highly underrated spell, that is surprisingly effective when used correctly. When used with Fireblast, this spell is enough to either send an enemy hero back to recover, or force him to disengage from battle. It also makes chasing heroes really easy by slowing them to a crawl.

img_6423_ogre_bloodlust.gifBloodlust (Mana Cost – 75/ Cooldown – 20 Sec.)
Description - Incites frenzy in a friendly unit including you, increasing its movement and attack speed for 30 seconds. The attack/movement speed gain increases from 20%-6% to 50%-15% depending on the spell level.

Another one of the Ogre’s underestimated spells; this one works tremendously well with Ignite to help you gain a huge movement speed advantage over your enemy to help you slay him.

img_6426_ogre_multicast.gifMulti Cast (Mana Cost –N/A/ Cooldown – N/A)
Description - Enables the Ogre Magi to rapidly cast his spells, giving them greater potency; Gives a chance to cast a spell multiple times in one cast. The higher the level of the skill, the more times the spell will cast when it proximate. The chance for the spell to proximate is 20% normally, and 30% with a Scepter.

This Skill is what makes the Magi a force to be reckoned with. This one basically boosts the efficiency of all his other skills in different ways. The most noticeable effect of this is with the Ogre’s Fireblast, since this skill allows him to cast the spell multiple times at a foe, damage the living crap outta nothing. Simply put, without this ability, the Ogre would be nothing.

Early Game:
Items you should buy:
img_6435_ror.gifimg_6433_energybooster.gifimg_6430_bootsofspeed.gif

The Ogre isn’t very deadly early on and he isn’t a good farmer either. Try your best to get last hits when you can; if you’re not farming too well, don’t worry, just save up what you have and ensure that you don’t invest in useless items or die and lose cash. If you have an ally in your lane that can nuke/slow your foes, you might be able to get a few hero kills, else don’t even try. Your Fireblast isn’t too effective without multicast, so you can use it to get last hits a few times if you’re really desperate. You basically have to ensure that you have enough gold for at least 1 or 2 pieces of your Soul Booster along with (hopefully) a pair of Boots during this part of the game.

Mid Game:
Items you should buy:
img_6436_soulbastard.gifimg_6431_bootsoftele.gif

Your hero becomes noticeably powerful during this part of the game, but not the hero killer he’s destined to be. Participate in ganks as and when you can, but your main priority in should be gaining experience and leveling, and to farm as much as you can. You should complete your Soul Booster as soon as possible and start collecting for your Mystic Staff. If your enemies start harassing you too much, or try to gank you, farm neutral creeps to make cash and for experience.

Late Game:
Items you should buy:
img_6428_aghanimsscepter.gifimg_6437_staffof.gif

Complete Aghanim's Scepter; it’s time to start owning the enemy. Stick with your team while pushing or ganking, since the Magi has the ability to turn battles around with his multicast Fireblasts, Bloodlust and Ignite. If your enemy has a lot of damage in the form of spells or critical strikes, you’re gonna need more HP. If that’s the case, get yourself another Soul Booster, which you can convert into a Bloodstone. If you need disables, get yourself a Eul’s Scepter of Divinity. If you need more nuking power, get yourself a Dagon – the possibilities are limitless, but they all revolve around giving you as much time to use your Fireblast as possible.

The Hyperstone is a great item, but it's very expensive and only gives you one buff - enhanced attack speed. Get this item only if you have ranged/melee damage dealing heroes in your team, so that you can convert it into an Attack Cuirass to boost your team's overall damage output. If that's not the case, I recommend getting a Hand of Midas (in almost any scenario), since it helps you farm, gives you enhanced attack speed, and you can get it early on to boost your income when it's required the most.
