Primary Attribute: Agility
Primary Role: Hero Killer/Lane Pusher (Mid-Late game)
Introduction:
Luna is one of the few agility heroes that have awesome physical as well as spell damage. This babe is the complete package – she can be used as a dedicated nuker, or a complete physical damage dealer. The way I like to use her is as a Battlemage, who’s good at both physical as well as spell damage. In this way you’re not completely dependant on her ultimate, and neither are you dependant on her physical strength to kill heroes.
The Good:
Good damage output (Spell and Physical)
Nice Movement/Attack speed
Versatile hero, works with most non-orb effect items
Good farmer
Devastating ultimate
The Bad:
Orb Effects don’t work
Attack Range isn’t as good as other ranged heroes
Lucent Beam (Mana Cost - 95/ 110/ 125/ 140/ Cooldown – 7 Sec.)Luna concentrates on the moon's energy and channels it forcefully to the surface, damaging an enemy unit. The damage output increases from 75 to 300 with level.
Lucent beam is the only nuke Luna has. Get enough regeneration items and you’ll be able to make the most use of the 7 seconds cooldown the spell has.
Moon Glaive (Mana Cost – N/A/ Cooldown – N/A)Allows Luna to attack extra enemies with each Glaive attack. Each enemy struck beyond the first incurs a 40% damage loss, per unit. The number of bounces increases with each level.
This spell is what makes Luna an incredibly good farmer during mid game. Earlier on in the game this spell helps Luna to harass her enemy heroes a little.
Lunar Blessing (Mana Cost – N/A/ Cooldown – N/A)Nearby ranged units gain the power of the moon. The bonus damage percentage increases with each level.
Lunar Blessing increases your teamnmates’ and your damage a good bit. It’s quite useless early on, so don’t bother with it till your base damage is considerably high.
Eclipse (Mana Cost – 250/ 350/ 450/ Cooldown – 140/ 120/ 100 Sec.)Calls to the moon's magic, summoning a concentrated burst of Lucent Beams to damage targets within 450 AoE around Luna. If Luna dies while casting Eclipse, Lucent Beams will still be produced at the area where she dies.
You need to isolate your enemies before using this spell. The best way to do this is move around the neutral creep areas whenever you can, to catch hold of an unsuspecting enemy hero.

Early Game:
Items you should buy:

Luna has an attack range of 330 meters, which is better than melee heroes (of course) but worse than almost all ranged ones. Keep that in mind, and stay weary of heroes that can harass you with their long ranged projectiles. To make up for your lack of range however, you’re given a skill called Moon Glaive, which basically bounces your attack off enemies. Use this to your advantage and try and pick your target such that your last bounce hits the enemy hero. Your base damage is very low so last hit creeping is kinda outta the question (unless you’re really good). At level 1 your nuke isn’t too effective against heroes, so you can use it get last hits on creeps, provided you’re sure that you get the kill (else it’s a waste of mana). Don’t overdo it though, since you’re need all the mana you can get once you hit level 3, so that you can harass your enemy with your lucent beam. If you’re enemy has a lot of HP regeneration don’t bother too much with nuking, since it won’t do you good. Just focus on controlling the lane a bit and getting as many creep kills as possible. One last thing – if you come across and heroes that have channeling spells, your Lucent beam has a small mini-stun that can be used to stop them.
Mid Game:
Items you should buy:

Here’s where your hero begins to shine; you have enough mana regeneration to get a few casts of Lucent Beam on the enemy and soften him up, and a decent amount of +damage through your Oblivion staff and Ring of Basilius to get a good amount of creep kills (at least 2-3) per wave. Before you use your ultimate however, I suggest that you get level 4 Lucent Beam, since it increases the damage output from Eclipse a good bit. Try and stick to the lane near the most creep camps (Top lane for Scourge and bottom lane for Sentinel), so that you can farm neutral creeps every time your lane pushes too forward. Having an Observer ward placed in the river near you and somewhere in the creep camps will also help you detect ganks, as well as set them up when you find one of your isolated foes lingering around. Farming won’t be a problem at this part of the game – just ensure that you farm enough for your Eul’s Scepter of Divinity and Power Treads. The rest of your cash should go in your Radiance fund.
Late Game:
Items you should buy:

Your hero is a killing machine by now. Make sure you place a few Observer wards around, so that you know exactly what your enemy’s up to. You can take out huge waves of creeps within seconds, so farming shouldn’t be a problem for you, especially when you get your Radiance. After that’s completed, farm enough for a Guinsoo’s Scythe of Vyse that should boost both your mana regeneration and damage output, as well as give you a disable. In case you wish to boost your spell power, get yourself an Aghanim's Scepter.
