Most Important Basic Unlock:
II – 14 EMP Mine
The II-14 is the first and most important unlock in the Engineer Class. This EMP mines help stop enemy armor by discharging an EMP pulse whenever an enemy vehicle (or your own team’s vehicles) drives over it. This gives you enough time to hit the back of the Tank or APC (which is where the vehicle is least protected) with your Rocket Launcher. If you have the Pilum H-ARV, you can one shot most tanks if you hit them at the back. The problem with these mines is that although they’re flat, they’re kind of large and pretty visible. To ensure that your enemy doesn’t evade them, refrain from placing them in the open. A better idea would be to place them around corners, where your enemy least expects them. The minute your enemy’s walker or tank steps on one, be sure to waste no time as it will be disabled for just a few seconds. If you have a Support Class soldier around you, ask him to throw an EMP grenade after a few seconds, to ensure that the enemy vehicle remains disabled.
