It,s not an understatement—the things you can do to a digital image in Adobe Photoshop are limited only by our skill and imagination.
For now we use our imagination in doing a simple photo manipulation, or what we call here—a digital makeover. To use as an example I started with this image:
And changed it to this:
The six steps I used for this makeover can be used as an example for the kind of effects that you would want to add to your photos. Remember, the steps below were great for the image I used, but not necessarily for every photograph.
Note: You need to have a basic understanding of Photoshop to follow the steps below.
Step 1: Getting rid of the freckles
First, I opened the image in Adobe Photoshop.
I select the 'Patch Tool' from the toolbar on the left.

Zooming in on the face, I select the area with the freckles, and then drag the selection to a clearer part of the skin, so that the patch tool can apply the clear texture over the freckles.
I repeat the process on the other side of the nose, and as you can see, the freckles have visibly reduced.
