The Wii-xperience
By: Avinash Bali   |   Mar 13, 2007

As the name suggests, Wii Sports is an amalgamation of five different sports -
  • Tennis
  • Bowling
  • Boxing
  • Golf
  • Baseball
Having killed Fight Night Round 3 a while back I thought I’d start off with some boxing to see how interactive it actually is. To be very honest with you; the game looks bad and after playing stuff like Gears of War and Fight Night Round 3, the Wii’s graphics definitely feel current generation. Now I know this was a conscious decision on Nintendo’s part to sacrifice graphics for gameplay and I think this gamble has worked in their favor as of now since the game’s do feel extremely interactive and have you using your console’s controller like never before; I only hope Nintendo has enough substance backing them as and when the whole novelty dies out.

Once I got past the graphics I was swinging punches like Mike Tyson in no time and pretty soon I was being stared at by curious by passers who I’m sure thought I had officially lost it but even then, nearly everyone (and I mean everyone... women included) in office wanted a chance at the game and even the peons who really don’t give a rats ass about games stood looking at us playing with a bemused smile plastered across their faces. Swinging the controller like a mad man is fun no doubt but one thing I’d like to warn you about is that the controller is not all that responsive and there were times when my swings just didn’t get registered by the game (very frustrating) and my character stood perfectly still.

The price mentioned in the article is the rate at which the Wii is being sold in the black market. As of now Nintendo have no plans of launching the Wii officially in India so your best bet would be to wait till the price falls significantly.
Avinash Bali @ Mar 14, 2007
When will it be sold here officially?

In the article it list 22,000rs as the price? Is that official?
Sahil @ Mar 14, 2007
It is sold in India, but not officially for an extremely high price.
Avinash Bali @ Mar 14, 2007
So is it actually sold here in India?
Sahil @ Mar 14, 2007
