EMDB
Publisher: Wicked and wild Inc.
This one is for all the movie enthusiasts, what with scores and scores of titles to maintain and choose from. A C++ freeware, Eric’s Movie Database is a cool tool that makes life easier for the confused. It retrieves info about your movie title from IMDB. That is the first step; you can access it by clicking on the ‘add’ button on the simply laid out menu. The response is fast, and the name (along with additional info about the film) is made available in a list. Once you have your list ready, simply click on each name to view details, and edit it to add your personal notes. A nice piece of work.

PVD is slightly more in depth and bulkier than EMDB, though this too is freeware. That apart, it’s a brilliant software. The GUI starts off blank when you first launch it; then you fill in the required fields, select the site you want to download info from (choices are aplenty), and you're all set. You can get posters and cover art of your DVD from Amazon.com by clicking a small icon that appears when you scroll over an image template.
