  • who is this nerd who has reviewed the Google Maps?
    1>Google Maps is no substitute for GPS.
    2>For Google Maps to work, you need a GPRS/EDGE or Data connection, and again accuracy is very bad, in the range of +/- 20-30metres. GPS is spot on with a accuracy of +/- 1 meter, and is real time.
    3>There are GPS maps available for all the metros in India, and they include route mapping, shortest distance etc.
    4>You really cannot compare GPS (which downloads coordinates for location data from satellite) with Google (which takes so long to load up and is Data based, which is expensive)

    Its really surprising to see the reviewer not aware of what he is going to review...!!
