  • Cool...thats exactly what the next step to mobile computing should be. If you think about it, the possibilities on what you can do with your phone are limitless.

  • I really want this phone so I can have stuff like R so I can do t tests anywhere, and also it'd be neat to have a newsreader, and now just any newsreader, my favorite one. That's the whole point of this phone, you get the functionality with the programs that you like, and you're not stuck with what manufacturers put on it.

    Stuff I'd love to port to this phone are CLI apps like elinks and snownews and gui apps like a pdf reader. I think reading PDFs are definitely reasonable if you view using landscape mode. Then you could read papers or whatever anywhere.

    Only thing that would be a showstopper is battery life. In order to be of any use as a phone and a computer it'd probably need about ten-fifteen hours of computer use or thirty-forty of talk time.

  • Can't beat the Openmoko...
    I really want to get one asap;
    being able to completely access the internet without limitations on a mobile phone (or is it really just a phone anymore?) sounds just like my kind of thing!
