Bhashini, an initiative by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under its National Language Translation Mission, aims to democratize access to information across India’s diverse linguistic landscape. The comprehensive migration, completed swiftly over two to three months, involved Bhashini's entire AI stack. This included its vast multilingual datasets, sophisticated models, APIs, containerized services, orchestration pipelines, databases, and crucial storage infrastructure.

Yotta’s teams meticulously re-engineered multiple layers of the stack, implementing high-performance NVIDIA H100 GPU clusters and optimizing pipelines for speech and language models. This dedicated effort resulted in the platform not only being stabilized but also significantly enhancing its performance by nearly 40 percent.
Beyond the remarkable performance gains, the migration also delivered substantial financial benefits, bringing down operational costs by an estimated 20 to 30 percent. Crucially, the updated architecture leverages open-source, cloud-agnostic components. This forward-thinking approach supports long-term vendor neutrality and strategic autonomy, ensuring Bhashini's future growth is not tied to any single external provider, reinforcing India's commitment to self-reliance in the digital domain.
