Microsoft Surface event in October 2026: What to expect

Microsoft has confirmed in a post on X the Surface event will take place on October 7 at 10AM PT (10:30 PM IST in India). This is one of Microsoft’s first events in a while where both Windows and the Surface lineup get integrated with local AI applications.

The star-studded event is confirmed to have Microsoft’s chief Satya Nadella, along with Pavan Davuluri, heading the devices segment and Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang.

Having Nvidia at the event means we could see the first RTX Spark powered Surface laptop which is likely to be called Surface Laptop Ultra. Microsoft has claimed this to be the most-powerful Surface PC till date and we are eager to see how the new chip+ GPU setup brings AI-based tasks to the consumers.

The regular Surface Laptops will also be refreshed at the event. But what about Windows? Microsoft should have some AI-centric updates to share but the chances of a Windows 12 unveiling are slim and we might have to wait a little longer for the new version to be announced.

The company also needs to amp up its local AI computing setup and that should become clearer next month.

We also expect Apple to host its own event in October where the new MacBooks (Pro mostly) with a touch screen are tipped to be announced. A new Apple TV 4K version and iPads cannot be ruled out either.
