The sale officially opens to everyone on August 7, arriving roughly a week ahead of India’s 79th Independence Day on August 15. That’s a week later than last year’s edition, which reportedly kicked off on July 31, 2025.
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you don’t need to wait for the official start though. Prime subscribers get early access, with the sale opening for them anywhere from 12 to 24 hours before the general public gets in, putting Prime access around August 6.

On banking offers, the headline deal is a 10 percent instant discount for HDFC Bank credit card holders and EasyEMI transactions. Separately, Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card users get 5 percent unlimited cashback on eligible purchases. Buyers can also expect the usual mix of exchange offers and no-cost EMI options layered on top of these bank discounts to bring effective prices down further.
For deal formats, Amazon has confirmed it’ll run Top 100 Deals, Blockbuster Deals, Trending Deals, and time-limited 8 PM drops, alongside Blockbuster Deals with Exchange and a dedicated Price Crash Store. Beyond straightforward discounts, the sale will also include combo deals, Amazon coupons, and freebie offers, plus additional Amazon Pay perks like cashback rewards of up to Rs 2,000, gift cards and vouchers, mobile recharge savings of up to Rs 50, and discounts of up to Rs 999 on insurance premiums.
What categories to expect deals on
Going by Amazon’s past sale events and this year’s early teasers, expect discounts spread across smartphones and accessories, laptops, smart TVs, tablets, TWS headphones, cameras, gaming laptops, smartwatches, home theatres, and major appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, and microwaves. Amazon’s own devices, including Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks, and Kindle e-readers, are also expected to see discounts during the event.
As has become the norm around this time of year, Amazon isn’t running this sale in isolation. Flipkart’s own Freedom Sale is set to begin August 8, just a day after Amazon’s event goes live, meaning shoppers will likely want to compare pricing across both platforms before making a final call on bigger purchases.
