Meta is testing StoryKit, an AI app that lets parents create personalised children’s stories using custom characters, settings, values, narration and music.
Meta is testing a standalone AI-powered app called StoryKit that allows parents to generate personalised, illustrated stories for children. The app is currently available as part of a limited pilot in select countries, with Meta evaluating feedback before deciding whether to expand its availability.

StoryKit is designed for adults who want to create customised bedtime stories without writing them manually. Parents can choose the characters, setting and values they want the story to include, after which the app generates the narrative and accompanying illustrations.

StoryKit asks users to make three main choices before generating a story. Parents can describe a character or upload a photograph of a child’s favourite person or toy. They can then select or describe a setting, such as an enchanted forest, an underwater kingdom or a distant planet.
The final choice involves the message or value that the story should communicate. Options can include kindness, courage and empathy, allowing parents to shape the lesson around their child’s interests or needs.
The completed story includes illustrations, expressive narration and an original musical score. Meta’s App Store listing says users do not need to write any part of the story themselves.
StoryKit Is Restricted to Adult Users
Although StoryKit creates content intended for children, Meta says the app is available only to people aged 18 and above during the pilot. It is positioned as a tool for parents rather than an app designed for children to use independently.
The company says StoryKit includes AI safety filters and does not contain social networking features. This means users cannot publicly post stories, follow other accounts or interact through a conventional social feed.
Parents uploading photographs should still review the app’s privacy information and understand how submitted images and other personal data are handled before using them to create characters.
Availability Remains Limited
Meta has confirmed that StoryKit is being tested in select markets, but it has not disclosed the complete list of supported countries. The current App Store listing identifies Meta Platforms as the developer and shows the app as being available for the iPhone.
There is no confirmed timeline for an Android version or a wider international release. Meta is expected to use feedback from the initial pilot to assess how parents respond to AI-generated storytelling.
