Portronics Tornado Plus air duster launched at Rs 2,999, hits 130,000 rpm

Portronics has added a new cleaning gadget to its accessories lineup with the launch of the Tornado Plus, a cordless air duster built for clearing dust out of electronics, vehicles, and hard-to-reach corners without relying on disposable canned air.
The company is pitching the Tornado Plus as a multi-purpose tool for homes, offices, and cars alike, capable of handling laptops, keyboards, CPU cabinets, cameras, gaming consoles, car dashboards, air vents, and other tight spaces that are typically a pain to clean by hand.

The device comes in a matte black finish with orange accents and uses a pistol-grip shape designed for a secure, one-handed hold. Being cordless keeps it compact enough to carry around the house or store in a car glovebox. Portronics has also included several swappable nozzle attachments, aimed at everything from precision dusting on a keyboard to reaching narrow gaps in a car interior, with the company even suggesting one of the nozzles doubles as a barbecue fire starter.
At the core of the Tornado Plus is a 160W brushless motor capable of pushing air at up to 130,000 RPM. Three separate speed settings let users dial the airflow up or down depending on whether they’re dusting something delicate like a camera sensor or blasting out stubborn debris from a car mat. Portronics says the brushless design also means quieter operation and a longer working life compared to the motors used in cheaper, traditional dusters.

Power comes from two 3000mAh rechargeable batteries, giving the device enough runtime for extended cleaning sessions without needing a mid-task recharge. It charges over USB Type-C, with a full charge taking up to 3 hours, and can be topped up from a wall adapter, a laptop, a power bank, or a car charger, which makes it easier to keep charged even while travelling.
