Google is making AI go deeper into your data and actually help you edit photos using Nano Banana thanks to the new Personal Intelligence update for users in India. We have seen Gemini get access for your Gmail data, and even the docs files can be handled by the AI chatbot.

But with Photos getting links to Nano Banana means you don’t need to rely on prompts to generate images anymore. Just seek the AI model to modify one of your existing images that is hosted on Google Photos.

How Nano Banana works with Google Photos

Personal Intelligence is the hub that is allowing Google to link Gemini and its AI models across your apps. Doing this means Gemini has an understanding about your preferences and its responses are personalised, including for images. This way you don’t have to type long prompts and simply guide the AI with specific keywords that will point Nano Banana to the right source for the images.

But with any AI tool that gets linked to your personal accounts, the privacy risks come to the fore. Now that Gemini can access all the data in your apps, does that make your content easily available for training the AI? Google says its regular privacy rules apply for Personal Intelligence as well, and it does not compromise on user privacy and their data in any way.

However, the company could use prompts and the image generated to improve the chatbot, which does feel like the price of using the technology to generate/modify images.

Google is locking the personalised feature to its Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US for the time being, and you need the Gemini app to access these features. However, the company is bringing the feature to more users in the next few months, which includes those using the free version of Gemini albeit with some limits.

In other news, Google is pushing students to sign up for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET UG tests via the Gemini app in India. The company announced this special tie up to help students get easier access to the educational courses and tests that help them prepare for the big day.

Google is working with Physics Wallah and Careers360 and claims to be building a, “best in class experience for learners coming to Gemini.” In fact, the company says the NEET UG exam in Gemini will not only cater to the questions you can expect during the actual tests but also work like the original thing.
