The easiest way to download YouTube videos is through the YouTube Premium service, which sets you back Rs 149 per month. However, these downloaded videos are saved within YouTube and can't be played outside the platform.
If you also have a YouTube Premium subscription, then just follow these steps to start downloading YouTube videos on your Android smartphone or tablet:
- Search for any video on the YouTube app
- Look for the three-dot logo next to the video
- Tap on the download icon and select the quality you want to download the video
- The app also shows the amount of data that will be used to download the video.
By default, the videos will be available to download from Wi-Fi only. However, if you want to download YouTube videos through mobile data, you can head to Settings and turn off the ‘Download over Wi-Fi only’ toggle.
The downloaded YouTube videos will be available in the Downloads section of the app. The downloaded content will remain as long as your device has an active internet connection at least once every 30 days.
