How to find your Google search history
To view the search history of your Google account from a browser like Google Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox, follow these steps:
- In your web browser, open google.com and sign in by clicking on the icon in the top right corner.
- Next, click on the profile picture of your Google account and then select ‘Manage your Google account.’
- Now, click on the ‘My Activity’ tab, which would be visible under your email ID.
After these steps, you will be able to view the ‘My Google Activity’ page of your Google account. Here you can browse through your Google Search history, Web & App activity, YouTube history, and location data. The Google search history will be shown in reverse chronological order, with the most recent activity to be listed first. As you scroll down, you can find older activities.
How to delete Google search history
You can choose to clear or delete your entire Google search history, and even choose to automatically delete the search history after a certain period of time. Follow these steps to know more.
- Log in with your Google account on the preferred browser of your choice.
- Next, from the bottom right section, click on Settings, and then tap on Search history.
- From the Search history page, you can delete individual searches from your history or clear your entire search history in one go by selecting ‘Delete all time.’
- To delete a selected timeline, you can tap on ‘Delete custom range’ and select the dates in the subsequent pop-up and choose ‘Delete these results.’
Finally, to enable an auto-delete option for the Web and app activity of your Google account, click on Auto-delete section and then select the 3 months, 18 months, and 36 months activity. This will automatically delete the Google search and activity data older than the selected timeline.
