How to update FASTag KYC for your car: Follow these steps

In banks and other recognised institutions, the Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process has become very important as it helps identify and verify the customers and ensures legitimate transactions.

The KYC procedure is also required in FASTag applications, where you provide personal details and documents to the authorities to help maintain correct records. In case there are some changes to the KYC details, you need to get them updated. If you don’t update the FASTag KYC, your tag could get blacklisted, and you might run into issues at toll booths.

Update FASTag KYC online through IHMCL/banks

For FASTag issued by NHAI, you need to update your FASTag KYC online through the IHMCL portal. Log in to the IHMCL FASTag Portal (https://fastag.ihmcl.com) with your registered mobile number and upload the documents required. Later, you can check the status of your FASTag KYC on the IHMCL website.

For bank-Issued FASTags, go to the NETC FASTag portal (https://www.netc.org.in/request-for-netc-fastag).  Under the ‘Request for NETC FASTag’ option, choose the bank that issued your FASTag and click on the ‘Visit Website’ link. Now, log in to the bank website and update your KYC.

Updating FASTag KYC offline

Visit the nearest bank branch or the FASTag issuer office. Ask for a form to update your FASTag KYC details. Fill in all the required details with the updated information and submit the form. The work from your end is done now. The bank or the FASTag KYC issuer will then process the changes made and update your FASTag account accordingly.

Documents required for KYC

As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, you must submit any of the following documents for KYC compliance: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID Card and Passport. You also need to provide a copy of your vehicle Registration Certificate (RC).
