Vivo S2 Geekbench Listing Confirms the Chip, But Leaks Still Don't Agree on Everything Else

With its India launch expected in the first week of August, the Vivo S2 has now turned up on Geekbench, giving the clearest confirmation yet of what’s actually powering it.

The listing, tied to model number V2576, shows the phone scoring 998 points in single-core testing and 2,825 in multi-core. Alongside the scores, it confirms Android 16, 8GB of RAM, and a MediaTek MT6878 chip built around four performance cores at 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. That chip designation and core layout lines up with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 series, backing up earlier reports that the S2 specifically runs the Dimensity 7360. Interestingly, this same chip already powers the Vivo V70 FE and the previous-generation V60e, so it’s a known quantity for Vivo rather than something entirely new to its lineup.
This also settles some earlier confusion. A few initial leaks had pointed to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip instead, but that speculation has since been dropped in favour of the Dimensity 7360, which also fits more comfortably with the phone’s rumoured sub-Rs 45,000 pricing than a flagship Qualcomm chip would.

Beyond the chip, different reports are painting somewhat inconsistent pictures on a few specs. Display size estimates range between 6.59 inches and 6.83 inches, though most sources agree it’ll be a curved 1.5K panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Battery figures also vary, some reports point to a 7,000mAh cell with 80W wired charging, while at least one recent leak specifies 7,050mAh with 44W charging instead. Camera details show a similar split, most sources describe a 50MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultra-wide, though one report instead lists a smaller 2MP secondary sensor. Until Vivo confirms the actual spec sheet, it’s worth treating these as competing rumours rather than settled facts.
Vivo has been fairly open about the S2’s look, even while staying quiet on hard specs. The phone is teased on its Amazon India microsite with a design closely echoing the Vivo X300 FE, centred around a horizontally aligned, pill-shaped camera module with a circular LED ring. Vivo is explicitly marketing this as a “flagship-level design,” suggesting the company is leaning on aesthetics as the S2’s main selling point rather than raw performance.
Pricing: a big gap between the box and the expected price
One genuinely interesting detail here is the retail box itself, which reportedly lists an MRP of Rs 66,999. That figure is almost certainly not what buyers will actually pay. Leaked internal retail pricing points to demo units priced between Rs 38,000 and Rs 42,000, with the 8GB plus 128GB configuration internally listed around Rs 43,000. These are described as internal reference figures rather than confirmed retail pricing, so the number that actually shows up at launch could still shift.
When it’s launching, and what it’s up against
Tipster Abhishek Yadav has pointed to August 6 as the India launch date, with sales expected to begin August 11. If Vivo does land somewhere in the Rs 40,000 to 45,000 range as leaks suggest, the S2 would compete directly with phones like the OnePlus Nord 6, Motorola Edge 70 Pro, Oppo Reno 16 Pro, and Vivo’s own V70 FE. Several of these rivals arguably offer stronger raw performance at similar prices, so the S2’s real pitch looks to be curved-display design and camera experience over benchmark numbers.
The S2 also carries some symbolic weight for Vivo, it marks the return of the S-series to India after a roughly seven-year gap since the original Vivo S1 launched in 2019 at under Rs 18,000. Unlike that budget-focused original, the S2 is clearly being aimed at the upper mid-range segment instead, a meaningfully different position for the series to re-enter the market from.
